QI-VITAL LIFE FORCE ENERGY
Qi is an invisible yet essential force, which forms the material world and animates life, recognized only by its indirect effects on what it generates, fosters, and protects. Gong means something that takes time and effort, cultivation, or practice. Qigong, in short, is "Energy Cultivation". When the life force, vital energy, or qi (pronounced chee) stagnates, or becomes blocked, imbalances in the organ systems of the body result, which manifest as symptoms (physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual). Symptoms signal we need to release energy blockages, so the qi can again move freely, allowing the body's systems to function optimally. Health is not the absence of dis-ease or symptoms, but a vital flow and balance of Yin and Yang in the body.
